I have a Case 2290 that has no flow on the hydraulics but the pressures are correct. I have replaced the piston pump and the charge pump. Filters are clean and the check valve in the filter housing are brand new. Can someone help with this problem?

The 2290 as close-center hydrolic pump. The system do not pump oil went the pressure is reach, about 2500 p.s.i.The compensator valve will not work and the pump as no signal to pump. This valve is in the side of the pump and contain small orifice who plug often by dirt.As the sterring and the power-shift are O.K Bernard le mécano from Québec Canada

The pump is a reman and the compensator comes on the pump. We have replaced the pump a 2nd time thinking it was that. The new pump come with a set screw and not orifice in the compensator. Case said it is a update from old style to the new style.Sounds like you know a little something about case more then case tech does.

Hi Keith, if all componement of your tractor work but not the remote valve,i think the problem is in the valve. The signal ,who control the flow of the pump will not work. The pump will allow to much oil to operate p.t.o ,hitch and power-shift but no signal to operate the remote. This signal is done by the remote valve.A small pipe from the valve will connect to the compensator and allow to this one the signal Bernard le mécano Quebec Canada

Do you mean no flow at the remote valve outlets or no flow at any circuit (PTO doesn't work, powershift doesn't work, etc)?

If you have PTO, Powershift, and 3 pt you are getting output from the hydraulic pump. I'll look at the service manual tomorrow.

In the interim look at the remote valves (under the left side of the cab. There should be an adjutment on them for flow. You could try to increase flow and see what happens. Also, were it mine, I would pull the oil supply to the remote valves assembly and see if you are getting output to them. Don't know where you are but if there was some water in the system it can freeze in the remote valve assembly and compromise the o-rings. To do this, run until fluid is at operating temperature. Stop tractor, pull line, have someone turn starting motor with full stop out. Should get enough to see if you have flow. Could even have had a "comedian" take the link pin out where the remote levers are not connected to the valves (had that done to me before).

If you are not getting oil supply to remote valve controls I think there is a flow divider that feeds them. It could be stuck. If you have PTO, Powershift, etc you have to be getting pump output. All these use pressurized hydraulic clutches.

When these units first came out, the pumps would'stick' with pressure and no flow. The fix at that time was to hit the pump with a dead blow hammer and jar it loose inside. I never did really get into the problem for I was on the other side of the shop working on the CE and Utility line and would just star in amasement to this sort of fix.
