On a 530 gas backhoe,no PTO. theres a hollow splined input shaft that engages the pressure plate. Whats it for? I thought that the PTO provision was an internal, splined shaft that engaged the crankshaft .. no problems I am just curious.. I just love to find others mistakes, like someone put the throwout bearing in this one backwards. Of course they rebuilt the engine too and thats why I am having to put a crankshaft in it also..

Everyone I've been into had the spinning part of the throughout running on the fork instead of the usual pressure plate fingers. I think case put them all in backwards.

yup thats the right way. the throwout is held against the fingers with the spring and the (tooth) goes toward the fingers to keep it spinning, (smoth side towards the fork). if you put the tooth towards the fork it makes a very interesting noise as the tooth spins around hitting the fork every time you start to push the clutch in!!

nope the outer shaft drove the stock hydraulic pump. the inner shaft went to the clutch plate. BUT onlater ones its the way you mention and the CaseaMatics were different too. can't remember how they went.
