As you can see in the auction result post above one brought $33,000 . The 22-40 was a prety low production tractor at 1,757 tractors. The price was the reason Case did not sell alot of them. They were built from 1919 to 1925 and were $3100 new. The 1920 sold at the sale was the highest production year made at 1020. So be sure and check the year it could be a very low production year tractor. A tractor like that in restorable shape is a very good investment. It is like land. You may pay a little to much when you buy it, but if you make payments it is usually worth a lot more when it is payed for. I have noticed in the last couple years that there are more and more collectors turning to Case. John Deere is NOT the only investment tractor out there. If I thought I had the slightest chance of buying a 22-40 I would do what it took even if I had to work a lot harder for a couple of years. It would be worth it when your done. My 2000 price guide shows in mint shape it being worth $13,500 so you can see how the values are climbing. Let us know how you come out on it..
