I just purchased a new home and need to accomplish some significant escavating. I'm looking for a loader/backhoe combination in the 10K range. I must admit, however, I know nothing about the particulars of these machines. Currently, I'm looking at a Case 580E. Obviously, I don't want to be ripped off. I was hoping someone could point me to information/links that could assist me in my quest?

Thanks

Not knowing a lot about the machines maybe you would like to consider renting a machine. Remember there not a toy they can hurt you or worst. This would let you find out if your really up to operating a machine with a low dollar out. Regular use of a hoe requires maintenance as hoses break, bucket teeth fall off, cylinders leak, etc. Misuse by a inexperienced operator causes even more problems, all of which need repair. Many times large or special tools are required to make the repair. Having to call the shop to repair the machine is costly if you don't have the tools or know how. In our area you can rent a hoe for $225 to $300 a day including fuel, delivery and pickup. Just something to think about.

Hi, Click on left side of this site for purchase prices and also click todays tractor since a 580E would be 1985 or newer. 10K for an 580E sounds great to me (I didn't think you could get one for that price)....Dennis....
