Hello Guys. I need some help with Cases since we farm with solely IH tractors. Me and my brother are looking for a Diesel Cab tractor with a 3pt and wide front. We will mainly haul manure out with it, put it on a 3pt snowblower, and maybe use it on the disk or set of plows in the spring. I often thought that the '30 series Cases looked impressive so I am interested in maybe looking around for one. What model would suit my needs? We would just like a heated cab(no A/C because I prefer an open station tractor in the summer), 3pt, widefront, Diesel, and I would like it to be in the 60-80hp range. The max it would pull would be a 4 btm IH plow and a 12ft IH disk. I was thinking about a 930CK? What do all you Case fans think? I love IH but they are alittle to expensive for me, I believe a Case would do us fine.

Thanks for all the help!

An 830 or a 930 would both do the jobs described. The 930 would be on vacation with this light duty. An 830 would be happily barking along under the load.

Here in southern wis we have 3 1030 2 930, and a 830. All are diesels. I find the 930 are a good tractor. The can handle the work of a 1030 also. We pull a 10 shank chiesel plow and a 12 foot finisher with both tractors. And the 930 can pull in the same gear as the 1030 will. They are cheap power compared to the green or reds of the same size. The brkes are sometimes not good but once replaced if bad are great then. contact me if you have further questions about them i also rebuild the engines tooo.

TP, I've got 3 930's & Dad's 830 propane & a 1370 as my big tractor. My 930's are as follows: '63 propane wheatland six speed, a '65 gasoline rowcrop,& a '67 western special diesel. I use my 930 gas on the snowblower & it works great, starts easy in the cold. I had my diesel on the 16' disk this fall & it didn't know it was back there, last year my son was disking corn stalks with the propane running in 4th gear. All 3 930's have aftermarket cabs & no air cond. I think a 930 would be plenty for what you want to do, maybe an 830 would be enough. When Dad & uncle Bob each got their 830's new in 1962, they pulled 4-16 pull type plows for years, both 830's are Case 0 Matic propanes. I wish Case made the 930 in Case 0 Matic, I don't know why they didn't. Roger in NC Iowa

TP, I still have a 730 Diesel Hi Profile that I had when we were farming, tough tractor . It is one model older than the 930 CK you are looking at . In the rolling hills here near the susquehanna , I pull 4 - 14's in fine style. With dual wheels I pulled 10 ft disc , 10 ft cultipacker , and 10 ft spring tooth first time over plowed ground , 4 th gear ( 8 speed ). Neighbor always had either red paint or blue paint , bought a 930 CK says it's the toughest thing he has had , says it's a step up from 8600 ford .

They are a good tractor, very easy on fuel for h.p.,about half the consumption of IH. We have a 730 case-a-matic,very satisfied with what it will do,pulls a 4/16 semi plow in clay loam soil. Also, have case 870 diesel w/cab, just posted it on photo ads. Good running tractor, few years newer than 30 series. E,mail for more info if interested. Have a happy and prosperous new year,Gerald

I had a Case 730 diesel... The 12' IH disk was about all that the tractor wanted to pull. I now have an Case 870 diesel that pulls it with ease. I would recommend a Case 830 (or 870) at minimum (I like the 4 cylinder) or a Case 930 (or 970), either should handle your work with ease. You will find that the 30 series is a little easier to work on than the 70 series. No matter which series you decide on you can count on having to do the brakes (Case weakness). It is a 1 day job and you will be set a for a long time.
