My 49 SC was the year before the eagle hitch and has a hydraulic cylinder that stays with the tractor when not in use. The six-foot hoses that attach to the pump with swivels need to be replaced. Should I drain the hydraulic oil before disconnecting the hoses or will I not loose that much oil.

I would just drain it. This is a good oportunity to change it. It only holds 10 or 11 quarts so it won't cost that much to replace.

Keith you make a good point. I should have thought about that myself.
Thanks
