Am in the middle of restoring a 411B. Dad had a mongrel generator on there. Bought the right generator and went to mount it, but the bracket drops the ear down in front of the carb air intake so I can't get the hose on. I turned it down side up and the gen hits the manifold. So I figured dad Mickey Moused the gen bracket. I bought the right one from Don L (thanks Don) and low and behold, same thing. How the heck does my generator fit so not to interfere with the air intake hose!!!!! Thanks

John; The correct gen. is an Autolite. Are you sure you are mounting the bracket in the right place? I believe it goes on one of the water pump bolts.

Yep, got an autolite on it, and the adjustment bracket is off the water pump. It is the bottom bracket off the block. Does it slope up or down? Down seems to put it too low, and up makes it hit the manifold and it is too far forward. Would "modify" it but I know I am missing something and it shouldn't need it. When I am done with all this little stuff I can put my nice new speedo and tach on it (still in the Case box)

I will look at my mounting today and get back to you. Did you get the speed o and tach from me? John

John The upper, slotted bracket is straight, and comes off the water pump bolt at about a 45 degree angle. The lower bracket is horseshoe shaped, or U shaped, perpendicular to the block, no offset, and the gen. is nicely cradled between the breather pipe and manifold. Hope this helps.

Thank you. The U shaped bracket I got slopes either up or down depending on installation. I will make myself a new one, should be easy enough. BTW the guages did come from you. Keep me in mind if you ever get a brown speedo face, all you had was black. Also need the cable housings. I take it you have a 411B also? John

Hey John; Glad to help. I don't have a 411 yet, I have a 350 with the same set up. If you want me to get the housings they are pricey; Call or email me. Good luck John
