Hello all,
Was reading a Successful Farming & noticed a die cast Case SC ad from the Franklin Mint. 1:12 Scale. $135. Looks really nice. Their first Case replica. About time:).

I have one of these models and it is nice. What bothers me though is the accuracy. The tractor has the mechanical lift (little pedal at the back) along with the Eagle hitch. The hydraulic pump is mounted on the back of tractors that have Eagle hitch. There aren't any levers for the hydraulics. You can't have Eagle hitch and the mechanical lift. Also the brake pedals are on each side. The later tractors had the brakes on one side and the hand clutch lever or foot clutch (52) on the other. Also the steering arm is straight. The later tractors had the arm with a curve in the end. They seemed to have mixed a mid 40's tractor with an early 50's.

If anyone ever wishes to buy the SC try Binkley and Hurst www.binkleyhurst.com old time Case dealer in Pennsylvania.

Do any of you have the "SC" knife? I gave my grandfather the franklin mint "SC" collectors knife for fathers day. He loves the gifts I give him, seems they usually revolve around Case :) He has the tractor and the knife now...my great grandfathers first tractor was an SC and it only was used for plowing... said it would make the horses live longer. Otherwise he used horses, one of the best around.swore by them till he died in the 60's!! -Brad

P.S. I attached image and link of identical knife for sale!

I have one and also have real one . The toy has some mistakes . Tractor is early style pull in the center brakes pto lever by dash and old style rear end cover that has motor lift , no hydraulics .This tractor should not have Eagle Hitch. I like it any way.

Hi Steve,

Yeah- that Case SC model sure is pretty- puts the little plastic Monarch version (all that we had previously)to shame.

I've been using this photo for my computer desktop at work for quite awhile now:

Seeing how I've asked Santa for this pricey toy twice with no luck... it looks like I may have to break down and buy my own.

My only beef with the model is that the steering wheel is painted the wrong color. I used this as a go-by and painted my REAL SC steering wheel the wrong color! Now I know better...

The Franklin Mint website doesn't have any of the large photos posted anymore- but I saved them on my computer.

I just uploaded the large pics to my photo gallery if anybody wants to see better views of the model:

I have to say- this is the ONLY thing from the Franklin Mint that I've ever wanted!

Hello Mike, it's going down to minus 30 degrees tonight and probably colder tomorrow. Did I not read in that Case history stuff that the front emblem is supposed to be the metal color for the word CASE with a blue background? That model would be wrong on that point too I guess, no big deal though. My friend has a Case S wide front for sale here not too far away from me. Needs work but not too bad overall for someone who likes a challenge. See ya.

You know, AB- you're right. I noticed that when I first saw the model... but had forgotten all about it.

I painted the background of my Case badge black. Maybe someday I'll see an original badge and be able to tell what color blue to shoot for.

Thanks again for the book(let)!

Mike. the way I explain the blue color on the SC badge to my painter friend, is to use the same blue that is found on an AC oil filter box. Otherwise the blue on the American flag would be another explanation.

Mike,
Thanks for the pictures. What you & Richard say about the accuracy is quite humerous but unfortunately quite true! Amen to never wanting anything else from there! (Unless they do another Case tractor:)
Thanks,
Steve
