I am trying to repair the brakes on my dads old Case, I have removed the brake assembly and the square plate on each side of the houseing. The seal on the right side looks like it will be fairly easy to replace but the left side, the way the shaft is made I don't see how to get the seal in place with out cutting it. It has a very sharp shoulder behind the splines. I have ruined one seal and I hate to ruin any more. If anyone can tell me how to get this seal in place would really be appreciated. Thanks, Bill

Billie; I wish my problems were as easy to solve as yours. I'm sure CASE offered a sleeve to install that seal in which case you might be able to borrow one from an old CASE dealer. In a situation like that I make a sleeve using most anything thin, flexible with some hardness to ride the seal over the splines and lip. I've used metal tape which is tougher than foil; plastic such as a large pop bottle. wrap it tite to the shaft, oil it good and slide the seal in place. Good luck John.
