Is there any way to slow down the PTO and belt pulley on a 1948 Case VAC? I think it is 1,000rpm and I want to make it 540rpm. If anyone knows if this can be done, please e-mail me. Thanks!

you may have to manufacture a new pulley rim using the existing pulley drive hub. there is probably a mathematical equation to find out the diameter.

Unless the shaft speed is 1000 rpm then your up the creek.

good luck!

For drawbar work all ag models of VA series are to be set at a no load engine speed of 1600 rpm; industrial tractor (VAI) at 1925 no-load rpm. For PTO operations set engine rpm at 1425 engine rpm; this will give 540 rpm at the belt or the rear PTO.
