First question: Do all 830's have the torque converter on them or was that an option.

Second question: What is up with some Case 70's being Agri-King and some being Traction-King.

830 was either dual range or case-o-matic. Comfort King was an option with better operator visibility the goal. You sat up higher. I don't think 830 had chain drive, pretty sure.

All 830's could be either equiped with the COM or the dualrange 8-spd tranny. I have a 61' 830 w/COM and a CK w/com. I also have a 730 ck W/8-spd.

Agri-Kings were 2-wd and TractionKings were 4-wd. Case Made 830 case-o-matics with torque, and 830 ComfortKings had straight 8 speed trans with high and low side to make the 8 speed with no torque.and I think they made 830's with chain drive??? i might be wrong on that. Jeff

The Case 830; eagle hitch and comfort king were made in both, 8 speed gear drive and with the twin disc torque converter (COM). The 830 was not a chain drive final.

There were no 830s with chain drive. The last chain drive tractors were the 930 standard - with 6 speed trans. The next smaller tractor with chain drive was the DC and SC. 400 was the first Case without chain final drive
