My friend's 400 has wierd spark plugs. Just a hole down into them. But what bothers me is they are taper plugs. I though my 400 years ago had plugs flat with copper gasket. 18 MM looks like. My books don't show. Can some one tell me proper plug? If they are taper seal, I bet they are hard to find.

OK. We solved it! The plugs had an adapter about inch and quarter long on each one. Standard plug screwed into the adapter. After getting them out, took a breaker bar and a very strong man on the last one. Kill or cure. It is now running nicely on Chanpion D-16 (book recomended). Have no idea what they were there for. They were 18mm, taper thread, no idea what used a 18mm taper thread. That gave a bad seal and carboned up the threads so we were lucky to remove them.

If you have problems with the Champion D-16's fouling, you may want to try a set of D-21's in it.
