can i switch the pto on my 1975 1370 from 1000 to 540? part swaps? conversion kits?

I was told one time that they decided back in the late 60's that any engine over 100 horsepower had to had 1000 pto only. No 540's. That only lasted for a while. The 1370 will run most equipment idling along at 1000 rpm. We use it on a NH round baler. Just put an adapter on the stub shaft.

Rob; I looked in the parts book; it showed nothing other than the 1000 shaft. For easy work a 1000 to 540 adapter stub would probably work well and save fuel. With that turbo 504 you will have plenty of power. Good luck, John

I don't know of any PTO conversions, but let me know if you find one. I have plans for a gear reduction unit, but it'll be just as good if someone already makes one.
