My 1030 Case, at low speed sounds like it is backfiring. But when you rev her up to about 1200 r's she smooths right out. Could this be bad valves or maybe the injectors?

AJ, Take some time and do this first, run the engine at idle and crack the injection line at the injectorand listen to the sound. I fthe sound does not change then that is the place to start. REMOVE VALVE COVERS AND CHECK CLEARANCES, PULL INJECTOR AND HAVE IT CHECKED, AND BRING THAT CYLINDER UP TO TDC, BOTH VALES CLOSED AND PUT AIR IN CYLINDER AND SEE IF IT COMES OUT THE INTAKE OR EXHAUST.mAKE SURE YOU loosen the radiator cap or take it off in case you have other problems. Sorry about the cap letters

AJ, is it doing this all the time, or when the engine is cold after first starting it up?. My 930 does something like that when its cold.....Roger

It does it worse when it is cold. But it still does it when it's hot too, just not as bad.
