Looking for info on a 6-8'case drag disk. It has a chain drive mechanism in front of the disk in the center. Where can I find out what model # it is & pictures of one? I will post a picture in a day or so when I get one. Thanks

It sounds like a No. 70 Power Control disk Harrow. Looking at it fron the front the chain should be a little left of center and unless it's missing it should have a cover over the chain. if you can find any casting #s on it I can confirm that its a 70. They were built in 6, 7, 8, and 10 foot and made from 1920-1946 from the best I can figure. The more casting #s you give me the closer I can come to a year for you. I will also post a picture for you shortly...

I will try to a put picture of my disk on here. If I cannot, I will put it on Help Identify. The # on the gear box is H 1043. I had to chain the back gangs together to load it. There was nothing between them.

I was wrong. From the casting number you gave you have a Model R disc harrow. They started building the Model R in 1948 and I don't have a year they quit. The number you gave was for the main housing for the power clutch. There was a hydraulic update for the disc avalible in 1949. The R looks like the one in the picture also..

Thanks for the info. I do not know much about the old CASE implements. I do have a 2 bottom centennial plow, I would like to see pictures of a disk and plow that is painted the right colors. I have not seen very many on this site. Where do you get the part #s from?

I have parts books for most of the disks. I also am lucky to have the parts supplement paper sent out by Case in 1949 for the model R. It also seems they had trouble with the top sprocket and scrapped the original # H-1049 and started using H-1095. So if you plan to use it you may want to see if it has the update sprocket. They also made the Model R in 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 foot. I have a picture of a 2 bottom plow on my site, but YT has banned me from putting a link. It is one that a person on my board is restoring. I will e-mail you a link. I wish I could give you more info on your disc but thats about all I know..
