Got the builders card today (thankyou Mike Schotte for the how to get it info!!)for my DC3.
She was born 6 Jan 1953, but she had a problem, noisy 4th gear...they changed out several gears and the bull gears. They released her on 27 Jan.

I have two questions
For Special attachments in addition to oil filter it lists:
Stock 156 and Morse Chain Anyone know what these mean???

HiDCTOM,

You mention that CASE used Link Belt final drive chain, now as far as I am aware CASE always used chain by WHITNEY right from 1929 when the chain final drive was introduced with the now famous models "L" & "C" series tractors., and was used right through production until the "930" went to gear drive with an eight speed transmission.

Hi Paul,

Glad you got the build sheet. Mark Smart sent me a photo of his '39 DC-4 build sheet so I could see what the old (2 build sheet per page) format looked like, too.

My '49 DC-3 was ordered with an oil filter and a high capacity radiator.

I don't have any idea what the options you listed are. If I had to take a guess... I'd say that maybe they replaced the drive chains with something called a "Morse chain" when they were replacing those gears you spoke of during the factory repair.

Keep us posted as to what you find out.

I believe the oil canister on the side of the engine was optional. I think that is what that means.
