830 carb linkage question?

I have an 830 gas and the linkage to the carb has me confused. Linkage comes along the right side to the governor around the front to the carb. Now there is another rod on the tractor that runs from under the dash along the left side and ends up next to the carb in the same area as the other governed linkage. Its not hooked up but I don't know if it is original or someone rigged it up for some reason.

the one from the frount is used to bring the rpms up the other from the rear hooks to the arm from the manifold in front of the end of the first arm
so that when you lower your rpm's the second arm is there to pull the linkage back, like a spring on a car's linkage does.

At least thats how its hooked up on mine

I would assume some fella bypassed the govenor to a false prostock sounding dream. Leave it off till you get to the pullin tract and don't use it till it is under a fair and heavy load.
been there and done it myself.
