An old high school buddy wants to give me his Dad's 48 Case which they bought new and still have the papers on. They parked it in the apple shed 25 yrs ago when they got a new tractor so it is in good shape. He w/give it to me if I want to restore it but I feel I should pay a fair price but what would that be? Also, is there a source for parts, decals, paint etc should I decide to proceed? Thanks for any help. I just restored my Grandfather's JD B and that was a fun project and parts were plentiful...so let me hear from you folks who know the ropes on Case. John

looking for a 1941 SC for my Grandfather, do you know where I could find one? Condition not important, actually the more beat-up the better

There were a total of 2874 DO's made and 376 of those were made in 1948. Depending on the overall condition of the tractor (running or not) leaves alot of room to play. But the major price factor is wheter or not the original orchard sheet metal is there and its condition. I recently purchased one that runs great, no orchard tin, and no tag for around $800, but the tinwork that is there is good. I hope this might give you some idea as to where you need to be.
