If you are driving along, in any gear or powershift selection, and turn the steering wheel completely left or right, where it will not go any more, the foward motion of the tractor stops dead. Engine RPMs do not change. As soon as you let up on the steering wheel it jerks in to foward motion again.

Have changed all fluids and all filters with no change.

Powershift seems to function fine through all gears. Hydrulics seem to to work as well.

Any sugestions would be appreciated.

Thank You

Dad's 970 did that. He made the mistake of buying a rebuilt one, and that one didn't work much better. You're better off buying a new one, even though it's quite a bit higher priced.

Probably the 8 gallon steering pump is worn out causing the reverse lockout spool to move out of position as it is dependent on steering return oil pressure to function mEl
