I have a 540 with a 7ft back blade I use to plow snow. Yesterday I was plowing up a fairly steep hill and the blade was being pushed up by the angle of the hill. When I got up to the top the 3pt would not raise. The front loader worked fine. After a couple of minutes it would rise very, very slowly. I pulled in the barn turned it off and let it sit for a little then started it back up and the 3pt worked fine. What would explain this? I this a sign that something is about to go? Any comments welcome. Thanks

Tim you might check the length of your top link to the 3-point. It needs to be a long link, and the top post on the blade should be relatively high. I once made a 6' shop built, straight blade, but didn't make the connection height for the top link tall enough. When I would get on uneven or upslope ground, I would lower the blade and the top link would actually roll down, or roll forward, the bade would roll backward, and it put the lift arms in a bad bind! Then the 3pt wouldn't lift up or down properly. It's something to look at anyway.
