I posted this message on Machinery Talk and was advised to try here. Apparently someone by the name of Max may have good ideas for me, but I'm hoping to hear from anyone who has answers.

I recently bought an old D1150 Case Crawler (bulldozer). I'm trying to work it all through in the shop now, just to get familiar with it fix up everything that doesn't work.

I may have more questions if anyone here is familiar enough with these things to answer questions. I've never owned something like this before.

I'll start with one. Is this a full 24 volt system, lights and all? The 2 batteries are hooked up in series, and I know it has a 24 volt starting system. My old 3010 also has a 24 volt starter, but the lights are all 12 volt. That's what made me wonder how this crawler worked. Right now the lights don't work at all.

I think I may have to replace the track chains and some other things as well. Since I've never owned a track machine before, there will be more questions when I get going on that.
