This forum moves to fast. If you don't get back to it before page 4 is over you got to go to archives. and I can't figure out how to get to any message without going through hundreds of messages. Most of the time I just can't find it. PLEASE REDO HOW THEY WORK. MAYBE BY PERSONS NAME OR SUBJECT. Now about the (57-58)ser# 8129440 900b I haven't found out when they bought it but I did find out it has a Americian Boosch(spelling)pump, and it's orginial. The tractor has about 8,000 hrs and the pump has never been off the tractor. the tractor was ringed and new bearings (no sleeves)at about 5,000 hrs. Trans. has had no work on it and the clutch is orginial. This tractor used a front end loader for about half it's life as well as field work. When they bought it new they also bought a new six sixteen case plow.

Jim,
Maybe this will lay a little light on the subject. I went to my parts book and it shows the American Bosch single plunger pump prior to serial number 8141036. Shows the multiplunger fuel pump serial number 8141036 and after.

Now according to Case Tractor buyers guide second edition it says the 900 was also built only in 1957, and was virtually identical to the 600, except for styling. The 900 adopted a new, taller, and more square -looking grille with intergrated headlights-the look that would set apart the styling of the B Series tractors. In 1958, however, the 900 designation was changed to 900B so as not to coincide with the introduction of the smaller B Series tractors. Rather, in this case, the "B" denotes the change in fuel injection pumps from that of a single-plunger American Bosch unit to a multiple-plunger Robert Bosch pump.

I checked my 1957 serial # 8107437 and it has the American Bosch pump, My 1958 serial 8123820 also has the American Bosch pump. My 1959 serial 8150560 has the Robert Bosch in-line pump. One of the differences I did notice between my 1957 and my 1958 is the block casting mumber. The 57 is B6300A and the 58 is 11155.

From what I read that any 900's built in 1958 beginning with serial 8120001 is a 900B even if it has the American Bosch pump. I am sure someone out there will correct me.

I have to eat my words(anyone have ketchup) The 900b I've been talking about was bought in the spring of 1959. My cousin thought for quite a while it was a 59. back than you didn't think about ser.#'s telling yr. models until a few years later when newer models were out and the parts man did not know your tractor and you had to buy parts. Than my cousin found out it was a 58. BUT beings that was 44 yrs ago my memory did not serve me well. I really thought he bought it in 57. Saying that I suppose my memory on when 500 quit and 600 came in and number of years made is just as faulty..... one menory I have that I think is right is that they were good tractors.
