I am proud to say that my VAO fired and ran first crank and probably the second starter revolution, I'm amazed and thrilled. Have not adjusted timing or carbureator runs perfect I think. Clutch works maybe a little stiff, transmission has all gears, all grind when I try to shift (laughing expected when I say something stupid my first tractor) Not sure but I think the brakes are OK but have nothing to gauge against. That said it has 15 pounds oil pressure at all engine speed is this normal? The oil gauge works but is original. Also this board has been all the info I needed to get this far. From the carb rebuild to the jet settings, firing order, places to get parts, it has all been here one time or another, my thanks to those responsible.

Hi Ted, in the 124 cid engine you can expect to see 12-20 psi oil press on the gauge at operating temp. If the gauge is good and you are seeing 15 psi @ all temps & rpms that indicates the pump relief is limiting the press to this value. To confirm sufficient oil flow, run the engine with the valve cover off and @ op temp. There should be enough oil to lube the valve running gear and and run off down the pushrod holes sufficient to lube the center & and aft cam bearings. Doesn't take much but should be oil flow not just mist. If you have the optional oil filter ensure that the inlet oil stem tube hasn't been broken off. Joe
