I am working to restore a 1937 Case CC tractor. It was stuck and I spent the winter soaking it in oil and about a week ago it let loose. I was wondering if anyone has an idea where I could get a overhaul kit? I checked with this place and they did not have anything that went back in age that far. It was a restoration project started 15+ years ago and was never finished. It spent most of that time sitting outside. I figure that as long as I have the head off I shouldn't take the cheapest way out. Thanks.

Our local Case-IH dealer is good with parts on this old stuff. We got a new 4" set for a DC last year. Check their website for contact info.

Like others have said, many of the parts from the early D series (early D series like 1939 & 40)are interchangable with the C series. Pistons/sleeves should be the same and should measure 3 7/8 inches (the 4 inchers will fit too). The C & early D series also shared the same head (4570)and many other parts. Don L. should be able to hook you up, I'm sure. Good luck

I believe that you will find that certain parts of your engine are compatible with a DC. Other experts posting after me will confirm or deny this.

What exactly do you need? Sometimes, combing the classified is variou magazines and on this website, you may find parts and pieces that you need a little at a time.

Fair warning... if your manifold is bad, i understand that the place in Texas that remanfactures them has a price tag of about $1500.

It is still possible to get some parts from Case but you need to find a Case dealer who is prepared to check the old part numbers (you need a parts book and a manual in any case) and find what is available. It is sometimes supprising what parts Case has for Cs (and Ds - Brian is right, many parts from D will fit C)

A really good source for parts is Don Livingston email manifold@smig.net
Don can find almost any part for you.

There are other sources for particular parts. Get a copy of 'Old Abe News' and check out the sources in it.

Heritage Eagle also has a decent classified section. There is an old Case dealer nearby to me, and they have always been helpful in cross referencing part numbers to help me locate what I need.

I do have original dealer parts books here, so if there is something in particular you need to research, feel free to email me.
