40+ yrs at a case dealership as a mechanic, grew up with Case-o's, dry, no sealers are needed if surfaces are clean and dry when put down. mEl

thanks by the way do you know if the torque converter should be sitting in oil i see that the casting is separated and the oil that goes to the pump is in a different reservoir than the torque converter when i drain the torque converter do i fill up the area around the tc or just fill up the torq conv ?

Just fill the rear compartment to level and run , keep filling till the level stabilizes.Give it some time as the converter must fill from the rear compartment, I lock the brakes and let the unit idle in high gear and fill to level, that way all motion in the box is frozen, nothing running but the pump, no oil splash to give false readings, someone out there will disagree cause it isnt't in the manual to do it that way, but, oh well!! mEl

Aviation form-a-gasket will work just fine. Whatever you do, don't use silicone. I've seen too many suction screens plugged with that stuff.
