The Hydraulic lift is working, but very slow, you have to rev the engine to full throttle to get the hydraulics to work, especially with an implement attached. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? What can I do to make it work without tearing it all apart. Thanks...

I asked that same question one year ago. I was very impressed when Elmer told me exactly what the problem was. He should be here soon to confirm what I'm saying.

There is an o-ring(or 2) between your hydraulic pump and the housing it mounts against. That o-ring is probably bad.

It's a pretty easy fix. Just pull the pto housing off the back. The pump is right there.

If you do a search here, you can find Elmer's response to when I asked the question.

You could have an Oring blown behind the pump, or pump worn out. Also a pressure line could be cracked.

Were your ears burning as I was talking about you? I was telling vic you would be here soon, and your post arrived before mine.

Thanks again for all the good info. I'm loving my DB.

I guess we were both responding at the same time. I like my DB's too. I was talkig to a man in Cape Breton Island and he told me he has a 990 with 21000 hours on it. If you treat them right they will last a long time. One tough little tractor!
