My neighbor has been having trouble with the caps ,located under the radiator ,on his power steering unit. Evidently some hydrulic spikes are getting to this unit somehow. It may do it at almost anytime even when there should be no strain on the power steering unit such as just driving across a smoooth field. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check the power steering and brake releif valve seat in the power brake valve, I think you will find that the seat has backed out and this is giving you a very high steerng preasure, reset and locktite in place.
