DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY PHOTOS OF A CASE 600? My Nephew has an Ertl 1/16 scale of a 600 and was told it was worth $150. I was curious so I looked into YT's serial number section and found that the real tractor was only built one year. (1957) I guess I'm trying to gain a little more knowledge of this illusive tractor. By the way, I couldn't find one on YT's photo gallery section. Thanks, David

Hi David,

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. I've got several Case 600 photos.

There are two pictures of a "600" in my YTMAG Friends gallery, and I've got this one I took at the Glen Rose, TX show:

I have several more photos of this particular tractor if you need any detail shots.

Did you change to the inline pump and different filter or did you buy it that way. If you changed it why?

I don't own one, but wish I did. I found a picture for you. I have an LA though and I like it too.

This is a rough explaination from an old farmer: When they came out with the 6 cyl diesel they put in on a LA rear end..this was the 500. Then they put in on the 6 speed rear end--the 600. Next year it became the 900. Friend farmed with a 600, one of the best tractors ever built.

The 600 was only built in 1957; 1515 diesel and 350 propane; no gasoline or distillate; 90 industrials. When Case restyled during Marc Rojtman's regime, the 600 became the 900 with restyled sheet metal and a different ehaust manifold.
I think $150.00 for an Ertl 1/16th scale is about triple the going rate unless it is a collector edition which they did make.
I have a 600 to restore but it's a ways down the road, especially if I decide to but an LI with a
Galion road grader whch was offered to me today.
Most of the Case history books have potos of the 600 in them.

I owned a 600 LP from 1968 to 1970 when I traded it in on my 1966 930CK. I was always told it was a 1956. and my understanding was the 500 quit with the 55 model and the 600 was made one year 1956. I thought the 900 came in 1957 and was made through 1959. My neighbor had a 1957 900 LP and it's dist. was on a bracket run off the same place the diesel pump mounted. than in 58 the Dist. on the LP 900 run off the cam at mid motor. The dist. on my 600 was run off the pump location. Oh yes I have a mint condition 600 Diesel Ertl the small scale 2-1/8" and a 500 larger about 3" long, on bottom of the 500 it says "CASE 500 #F-1 Vintage Vehicles From Ertl" also have 3 L's one 2" one 2-1/2" one 8" long two 1470's one a black Knight and one a reg. color both 2-1/2" long.

I probably will spark a fire here, but my dad had a 600B or 611B, and if it was a horse we would have shot it. We had it 9 years as I recall and never put oats in with it one time as it was broke down every spring. It was a pulling little mule when it did run, but sadly it did little of the work. Dad traded for a 730 and had bragging rights for years with the ol girl--perfect tractor. The only picture I recal is the 600 loaded on the truck headed outward and our neighbor wiping fake tears from his eyes.

The 600B and the 611B isn't the same tractor as what was first spoke of. This 600 was followed by the 900. The B series took the place of the old 350-400 round nose tractors and was eventually expanded to the 200 thru 900 series. Very few complaints about the original 600. Would be a great tractor to restore. Also, the toy 600 asked about by David would be hard to come close to $150. Maybe sometime down the road but sell for much less than that now.

Are you sure it was the six clyd. Six speed tran. with OilBath clutch and Chain final Drive. If it was bad it was you or the previous owner really abused it and they can take a lot of abuse and still come back ticking, they are like a timex watch...
