Hello again-

You know, I've always heard that the field color on the aluminum grille badge of a Case SC tractor was painted blue instead of black... but I'd never seen one that had any color left on it until now.

Here's a comparison of an original badge with the blue paint still intact and a reproduction badge with the background painted black.

Unfortunately, I painted my SC badge before I knew about the correct blue color.

Mike, Could you take the badge to a paint supple store that can match the chip of paint with a computer . Just a thought ,they come very close if not rite on the money.

Hi Jerry,

I'd do that... but that's not my badge. None of my SC badges have any color left on them.

I also think if you matched it- you would be matching the "faded" version of the color, and not the color itself.

Hey Mike, Why didn't you ask, I could have told you they were blue. You being a CASE expert and all, I'm suprised. BTW, who is making those badges? John

Don L. will have them soon. He is looking over some paint chips to make sure he selects the right shade of blue. To be politically correct, he said that he should have them painted black. I told him that I thought he should go with the blue and be correct and not worry about being politically correct.

Hey Mike - Do you know the paint code or vender/color name for that blue paint?

Hi Rob,

I don't have any paint specs for that color- I wish I did.

Here's what Bruce Nelson said about the color the last time we discussed this...
