I farm about 120ac with a D-17 and a IH 350 .Last year I bought a 930 case CK to pull a 17ft disk I had got in a sell.
Well the one day this winter I was pulling a log out of the woods for my neighbor and it stated to spit water out the top of the radiator .Well it did this all the way back to the shop (which was just across the field) when I got to the shop a touch the water and it was got even hot .So I took the cap of and the water in the radiator was not hot.
So I talked to some guy about it and I got 3 different opinions 1.I could have a cracked block.2I could have a cracked head or 3 I could have a blown head gasket .All 3 agree that I was getting compression back in to the radiators they said put some stop leak in it so I did.
Well I got it out Monday to start disking and it did a go job .(I am pulling a 17ft in 4th gear low at 1500rpms) about 2 hour into it it started to spit water again stop the tractor checked the water and it was not that hot I could touch it .so I started back up lowered the rpms to 1300 and it did fine for about a hour and it started spiting again .Slow it down to 1200 rpms and pick the disk up just a little and it was fine the rest of the day.But a one time when I idled down it to about 200 rpms the water stated to come running out of the radiator but as soon as I idled it up it quit.
Am I getting in compression it the water or am it working it to hard with this 17.5 disk.
What is your oppion and has any body else had the trouldle.

(I put new trowstates init last year and the disk is a 17.5ft IH)

Mark; You have compression leaking into the radiator for sure, 3 possibilities, Cracked sleeve, cracked head, or if you are lucky, blown head gasket. Ether will do this type of damage in a CASE engine. There is no quick fix. The heads must come off and you will need to do a thorough inspection. Lugging the engine is not good for it, but won't cause coolant to push out of the radiator. Hope this helps, John
