Just picked up a Case 2 Bottom Trip plow on rubber. Looking for parts and information on it. Looks like it had green paint on the trip mechanism, red on the beams and yellowish wheels. Can anyone help?
Thanks

The plows that I have look like the ones in the picture on Mike's web site. Mine are only 12-inch plows. Used motor cycle tires work real well on them, if you want to save some money. They do an excellent job plowing.

Looks good, Mike. I'm glad you got rid of the white sidewalls.

You're mixed up, Terry... The rusty, black painted plow is mine- the green & red painted one belongs to R Wyler (but is the same model.)

I still have the whitewalls mounted on one side and the military tread tire on the other!

I haven't done any work on my plow yet. I just posted the painted photos so I could link them to here.

Yes, that is just like mine. Have you started to restore yours yet?

Hi Dan,

Nope- I haven't done anything with my plow yet. Bought an operator's manual and a dealer service/parts manual for it, though.

R Wyler over on the Basher Board has been restoring the same model plow. I can't link directly to the pictures on this site- so I put some copies in my gallery instead.

I've probably got his e-mail address around here somewhere if you want to talk to him about specifics.

Hi Mike,
Hey, we've got one of those sitting in the weeds out back. (2-14's I think) Dad used it behind the DC when he first started farming & us 3 brothers used it behind a JD A when we were too little to reach the foot clutch on the other tractors. I saved it last year when my brother was torching everything up.
The only thing wrong with it is the rear wheel needs rubber. Who does that sort of thing?
(it also has 1 whitewall from a car:)
Thanks,
Steve

Thanks for the pictures Mike. Could you send me his email? I would like to ask him some questions.
Thanks,
Dan

I've got two of them like the one pictured. One of 'em is the same one that followed me for MANY MANY MANY miles behind an H Farmall in the late '50's & early '60's. Its about worn out, but I found new lays & slides a year or so ago @ a farm sale. Hope to get it going this spring. The other one is from sometime the late '50's, we think. Brother found it at an estate auction a couple of years ago for $35. It has throw-away lays. Son of previous owner told brother that it had plowed only about 80 acres. (It works great.) Both are hand trip. 2nd one has enough paint on it to tell what colors it was. The colors on the ones in the picture are about right-though the red was a little darker, I think. The coulters & mounting hardware were definately black on mine. The axes & hub caps on the wheels are the same dark green as the lifting mechanics. I've got Dad's original book somewhere, but haven't located it yet. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
