I have a '53 VAC, I am not sure which Carburator it has. My local parts outlet didn't have a rebuild kit, but only a gasket kit. I don't have a service manual so I don't know what the float level should be or the needle valve adjustments should be. I someone could help me with the carb specs I would be greatly appreciative.

Unless the throttle plate rod is worn and the needle valve is worn or damaged, you don't need a complete rebuild kit. Clean it out good, make sure all passages are open, and moveable parts are free. My book calls for a float setting of 9/32 on the MS TSX 114 carb. Idle mixture screw turned in richens mixture, power adjusting needle turned in leans mixture. The idle speed stop screw is adjusted to set idle at 475-500 rpm.
My '53 VAC14 is a low seat, wide front. If you have the VAC13, it's the high seat version.

JI Case I&T collection #C201, copyright 1990. The section covering the V and VA Series is from the old C2 manual.

I'm using Case publication "VAC Series Tractor and Engine Service Manual #Rac 258". Maybe the 1/32" is the gasket being in the equation or not?

I don't know, as there is only one paragraph on the carb, and what I put on the site is almost a copy. No mention of a gasket. I usualy hold a carb upside down when measuring so the float is pressing against the needle. There isn't an easy way to keep the gasket in place without cementing it. I think that such measurements have some leeway + or -, as no one can get it exact. Even the lines on the ruler have some width to take into account.
What did the #Rac258 cost? I expect to be at the dealer's next week.

If it's a Marvel-Schebler (probably) the factory float setting is: 1/4" from the gasket to the nearest surface of the float. On a Zenith (maybe) it is: 1 5/32" from the bottom surface of the float to the machined surface (no gasket) of the carburetor body.
