our case 970 is a little slow on takeoff in all gears..sometimes if you shift into 2nd range, it will take off an go like it should. But sometimes when you shift into 2nd range it acks like you pushed in on the clutch.
reverse works good in all gears. sounds like trash in it somewhere.

thanks for any help

i'am checking linkage now, but let me fill you in on more observing i did today. with new trans. psi dash Gauge,,at 1800 rpm {or at any rpm} psi at 175-180 ,pedal up low range {ok} 2nd range {ok} high range {ok}. but pull back down to 2nd range psi drops to 120-140, same thing in low range. let it set for a min. an psi will come back up on it's own, or go back to high range {psi ok}..also you can push in on inching pedal and psi goes back up to 175-180. reverse still works good.. note ..when i have no psi on low & 2nd, i have no 3 pt. lift until i push in on inching pedal, or go to Rev. or high

help me if you can,,maybe you already have..THANKS

I would check the springs, valve spools and check valves in the main valve assembly. Make sure everything moves freely with no binding, poppet valves seat well, springs have tension, and everything is in there-nothing missing. Good luck and let us know.

Modan; Had a problem with the power shift on my 870. Sluggish and low clutch pressure; I feared the worst. All it turned out to be was clutch pedal linkage. I think I had to lenghten it. Works fine. Hope your fix is as easy as mine was.
