Can someone please tell me where is the drain plug for the transmission and differential and what is the capacity? Also, what is the front tire size? This is a Case S-1949. Thanks in advance for any help.

My 48 S has 670-15 front implement tires, like on the front of the Morland/Baldwin Enthusiast Series book. I have the solid cast front wheels, which are wider than the steel rims. The parts book calls for 5.50 x 15's on the cast wheels (as Schotte said) and 5.00 x 15's on the steel rims.

The drain plug is just beneath and behind the belt pulley (on the right side of course).

I tried to put a link into the gallery pic I posted a few weeks ago. I don't have on Op. Manual yet, so not sure about capacity, but the fill/check plug has to be the 1/2" one above and just in front of the big 1 1/2" drain plug.

Dad always said, "Pump it till a little comes out."

I gotta fix a leak on the right brake. Seal must be bad, cause it just drip, drip, drips from the brake casing. Messy and probably not a fun job.

Hi Dave,

1)The drain plug for the transmission is a large square headed plug on the lower right side of the transmissiion case, sort of behind the right rear wheel. I'm not sure exactly where the fill plug is mounted on an "S" compared to an "SC"- so I'll let somebody else help you there.

The drain plug is located directly above the coffee can full of water in this photo!

2)The transmission holds approximately 9 gallons of SAE 140 for temperature 32 degrees F and above- or SAE 90 for temperatures below 32 deg. f. (Different "S" series manuals say 10-3/4 U.S. Gallons- so I would rely on the level plug to be sure.)

3)Front tire size for an "S" model is 5.00 X 15 I believe.
