I have an old DC that I want to use a blade on but it is prior to the eagle hitch, I see some tractors with those after market 3 pt. hitches. Are they any good? Can you get one for a DC? Thanks

Don't weld. Some where here there is a picture of arms adapted to a SC. Sorry-too lazy to hunt it up, forgot who did it. I printed it out and my buddy used it as an idea to BOLT extensions on his SC. He made a bracket under the seat for the top link. Works great.

Hey I found the picture and E-mailed it to you. My friend used the existings bolt holes at the front put a long rod through the end of the lift arms to rest the longer arms on. Have fun.

Does your tractor have a hydraulic lifting bail on it? I just put a 3pt. hitch on an SC that has a lifting bail. I made it though.

It has the 2 small arms that operate off a small bottom mounted cylinder. I am not sure what to call it. The cylinder is there but no hoses up to the remotes. I have never tried to operate them.

It sounds like a lifting bail. I don't know much about DC's. If it's like the SC, the hydraulic pump runs off the PTO. Inside the housing there is a sprocket on the PTO shaft that and it has a chain that goes down to another shaft that runs the pump. I have between $100 and $200 invested in the 3pt. hitch on my SC. Do you know a good welder?

Here's the homemade hitch on my '49 SC with the lifting bail.

The arm extension "boxes" are welded to the top of the lift bail, but if you remove the two cotter pins, slide the round bar out of the tabs on the extended lift arms, and they will slide right out of the boxes on the lift bail.

Mike... Is that a carpet under that sharp looking tractor? I have found a heavy carpet keeps weeds and grass from growing under a tractor or pickup. But eventually, weeds will start up on the carpet anyway.
Just spray some weed killer and you're good for another few months.
And best of all, used carpet is free for the taking.
And worst of all, one has to get rid of it in the end.
