I was wondering if someone had some advice on this. My backhoe has a G159 with a thrown rod and I want to install a 201 in its place. I know this engine is a little longer (same as 188) so my hood will be a little short. I think I will have to extend the steering and remount the loader, and I will probably have to change flywheels. Is there much more to this? Anyone done this? Oh yeah, its a 201 out of a 600 combine.

Scott; A neighbor put a 201 in a 430. Had to make or alter brackets for the front end support, alter the bell housing to accomodate the steering shaft, lengthen the hood & steering shaft. Other things were done but I can't recall now. Only 430 I ever saw handle a 7' Bush Hog in tall grass. Owner says "she sure like her toddy". John

It should use the same flywheel. Its about an inch and a half longer. I have a 188 gas that is rebuilt and for sale.
