We just recently bought a LARGE case tractor at auction. I have reason to believe it is a 930. Round Fenders, Hand clutch, 6 cylinder diesel, wide front end,6 speed manual trans, cultivator steel seat on rear of tractor, pto , no 3 point hitch. It has no decals. Where can I look on the tractor to get serial number so I can be sure?
Any info would help.
Thanks

Check out this tractor thats on ebay, says its a 930, has a hand clutch, the s/n is usually found on the lower left part of your steering column.

Link

If the link does not work just type in Case Tractor under ebay search, you will find it there

The Model and ser. No. should be a tag on the right side of the dash counsel. or look on the rear engine flange(just serial No.). it should be stamped,. I can't remember which side so look at both. the plate by the inj. pump is just engine ser. No. It won't say 377 or 401. and neither will any other no. on the tractor.

From what you have posted it sounds like a 930. There should be a tag just ahead of the injector pump(if it is a diesel) that should have 401 on it. If the fuel tank is ahead of the seat and the tag says 377 it would be a 900. The only other 6 speed would be the 600, and the tin is different on them. Good Luck

All 930's six speeds before 1966 had hand clutchs. In 1966 you could get it with a foot clutch.

Jim P; I'm not sure where you get your information, but you are very misinformed. All the 30 series tractors that I have had have a tag on the timing cover with the engine model # and the serial #. The model # is the same as the cubic inches. The foot clutch was introduced in 1962. The hand clutch was an option till 1967. The Comfort King came out in 1962. The row crop (8 speed) came out in 1964. 1030 came out in 66, and the standard version was discontinued in 67. All this information can be confirmed on pgs. 23-25 of vol. 2 Case Ag. and Const. Equipt. 1956 to 1994.

First let me say the 900 does not show cu. in 377. only model No. and ser. no. on the plate on the right dash panel. All 900's had 377 cu. in. and all Lp 900 and 930's had 377. On the engine only stamped ser. No. on the left rear flange. At least on my 910B. On my 930 CK it does show cu. in on plate on timing cover. The std. 930 (not CK) last year made 1962. 1st year CK 1963. At least that is the way they sold in my country.

I our part of the country we never seen a CK until 1963(round fenders). I knew a lot of farmers with 1962 std. 930's (get on from rear and sit between the fenders.)No one had a foot clutch and even in 66 I never knew anyone who ordered a foot clutch. Our dealer sure never told us foot clutch was standard and hand clutch optional. I thought it was the other way around. I'll ck my 1966 CK 930 tomorrow on the tags. Yes the Row-crop 8 speed 930 had a foot clutch. I never seen a 930 row-crop six speed oil bath clutch chain drive. Or a six speed with a 3pt. hitch. but after all, we are just old country hicks here in Western NE.
