Hello All :)
well heres the story and the trouble :(
i went out yesturday to fix a blown head gaskkey on our 830 case tractor, all went fine until i tried to put the new head gasket on the engine and the gasket holes wouldent line up to the head bolts, this is the first time we have done much to this tractor, since weve owned it, but have used the exact same head gasket type on another 830 we own,...so now the question...what is wrong here.?...there arent 2 head types for 830 i dont belive(having worked on several throughout the years), and that leades me to a strange conclusion,..this may not be an 830 Case engine at all..so could anyone tell me what kind of motor will line up and run on an 830 case transmition and how i can tell what it it.??? i dont have any # refence books so im stumped :( and may have to ask some more questions befor im done :( Joe

The earlier 267's in 700 and 800, the head bolt pattern was different. The easiest way to tell the difference is by the oil filter. The earlier ones the filter sits vertical and the later ones were horizontal.
