A few days ago I was at a tractorpull with my 1030
and on the way back home while it was running wide
open suddenly I noticed a lot of fumes coming out
of the breatherpipe, and a few seconds later it
blew out the dipstick like a rocket and I never
found it again. Then I was towed home. I have had
it started since it happened with no funny noises
and it fired as it used to. I took the heads off
and had them grinded and I am now waiting for the
new gaskets to arrive. I hope it is just the head
gaskets but I am not quite sure. It has been using
some water while I had it. The engineoil is BLACK.
Any ideas?

Did it have water in when you took it apart? cant emagine why it blew oil stick out!Agree with Pat to check sleeves an pistons very carefully with magnaflying glass. (had 1070 cracked pistions at recesses cut in for valves but they were very hard to find . found them by soaking in gas while we went for dinner an then fwhiiiile cleaning them noticed piston kept getting whet at crack) Were there any indications on gasket that it leaked? Need to find problem first -might have to pull piston an sleves check top of sleeves .Keep us informed

Hi Jens! Before yu put your heads back on, check to see if any of the sleeves are scored from a broken piston ring. It sounds like pressure built up in the crankcase. Also, did you have the heads checked for cracks??? I have a 1965 830CK, 1967 930CK, and a 1969 1030 CK. Hope This helps. Let us know at YTMAG how you make out

Hi Pat.
The sleeves are all nice and smooth, and I did
have the heads checked for cracks and they were
okay. When I took the valvecovers off, there were
som black "build-up" around some of the valve-
springs so maybee some of that could have caused
a plug so the pressure-buildup in the crank could
not escape. At least that is what I hope.
Jens.
