Steve; I can get you a rebuilt waterpump for that 711. My book is at the shop but I'm guessing around $120.

Steve;; The water pump bearing is a Fafnir number 304KLZ. The seal is a grease pressure seal and will probably be alright when you replace the bearing. The bearing is sealed on one side....Gene

Grainger has a large assortment of shaft seals, ranging in price from $4 to $130. A pump repair service might have what you need, too. Unfortunately the shaft usually gets worn.

Thanks, I have used Grainger's before for motor supplies, have a local outlet not to far from work.

The seal for this pump is a Case item only. Shaft wear is seldom a problem with this pump. The cavity between the bearing and bronze bushing and pressure seal on the impellor is filled with grease to a slight pressure on the seal to seal coolant from the pump cavity. If coolant leakage occurs, grease the fitting on the pump till it stops. Grease will leak out the front if the bearing seal is bad and show up on the fan pulley...Gene

Gene, all was well until the pump shaft started to vibrate and that's when I figured the bearing was gone. Will pull the pump and determine it's condition his weekend, Thanks for the info. - Steve

Steve; I waited too long to fix mine. Kept plowing, even though it was getting noisy and loose on the bearing. The fan blade caught the alternator pulley and broke the end off one of the blades and got 5 tubes in the radiator. Cleaned everything up good and replaced the bearing and filled with grease and all is okay now. There is a hole to help get the bearing snap ring out. Just push it in with a small punch so you can get under it to get it out of the groove... Gene
