I use only the main clutch because the hand clutch appears badly worn. It does not slip, but does not disengage well. So I just ignore it. But it would be good to have when snowblowing and bush hogging so I could stop the tractor and keep the PTO running. How big a job is replacing the plates in the hand clutch? Are parts available?

I think you'd have to split the tractor at the front of the 4 speed tranny. Check with your local Case dealer for parts. If they cannot help post on the classifieds and I'm sure someone can help. I've got 3 complete units taken out of parts tractors but not sure of the plates but I would think 1 would be OK
