Anybody know the displacement and dimensions of the late DO/DC engine vs. the earlier models? I believe mine to be late 1953 model, and have seen references on here that the engine specs were different on the very late versions. Thanx in advance.

Frank with 3 7/8 (3.825) bore engine displaces (3.825 * 3.14* 5.5stroke * 4) 268 inches

Late models had 4 in bore 276 inches

Mea Culpa...It has been awhile since geometry

Area is pie * radius squared... not pie * diameter

Therefor the small bore is 3.825/2 = 1.9125
squared is 3.658
times pie 3.14 = 11.486
times stroke 5.5 = 63.17 cu in per cylinder
times 4 = 252.7

As 4" diameter = radius squared the answer for the later engine was correct (by accident)

How come none of you guys caught me? :-)

C & D Bore = 4.0", Stroke 5.25" CID = 276.4. Early Bore = 3.875", Stroke 5.25" CID = 260.
