My neighbor is interested in a 2096 with 6000 hours on the tach. He wants to know what the engine life is on this model. I don't know anyone around this area that owns one, so I don't have a clue. Any help from owners will be appreciated.

The 5.9 B series engine is an automotive non-sleeved block. You either bore and install oversize pistons and rings or bore and sleeve back to standard. Many have accumulated that many hours and are still good for more.

I believe you are wrong. The 2096 is the smallest non-turbo model of the 90 series. It has a 504 wet seelve engine. the others are 2290, 2390, 2590.

Your thinking of the 2090. It has the Case 504 engine. The 2096 has the Cummins, that is aftercooled and has a turbo.

If I am correct the 2096 is also the largest of the series and not the smallest.

yup, 1896, and 2096 is largest. Capable of more horses too.
