We recently bought several Case C50 tractors, we farm several hundred acres of land and use these tractors daily. We ran across three tractors that broke at the axle, just wanted to know if anybody has had the same problem. We are going to contact the factory on this problem, just wanted to know if other tractors had the same problem.

In our country 500, 600, 900, 930, all broke axles. Actualy they crystralized. most all started at the end of the keyway that held the wheel on. I have seen myself at least 50 axles. amd they all looked alike. nice and smooth and with a slight curve to the point they broke from the weight. It was so common that our dealer made a stub axle that would bolt on and you could lock the broken axles brake and drive the tractor onto the truck for a ride to town, and most farmers replaced both axles when one broke. I myself never lost any and I have run one 600 one 900 and two 930's. My 1966 930 has 8200 hrs. and hasn't lost one, but tomorrow it could brake without warning as these brakes are under the wheel where you cannot see.

Thanks for the imput, but what I was looking for is on this type of tractor, C50 case which is a fairly new tractor. Needed to know if other tractors of the same model broke at the axle. thanks.

We had a neighbor with a 830 that broke a rear axle for no good reason. That was 30 some odd years ago and has not broke another one since. It is a tractor that is run almost every day of the year and has been overhaled 4 times.
