VAIs were made throughout the VA production timeline (1942-1955) and a total of 15,031 units in that time.

they came in the traditional flambeau red, dark military green, or industrial (old caterpillar) yellow.

some models were equipped w/ a high speed travel 4th gear (20 mph) compared to the standard 4th gear (12-15 mph) on regular VA series tractors.

they came w/ sickle bar mowers, mainly on versions sold to hwy. departments to cut ditches and medians. but ive seen a military version w/ a mower on it in a book once.

hope this helps!

What makes you think that it is a VA? Any tin tag on the dash with a serial number? If so it should start "VAI" then the serial number. I think the Industrial versions had a very heavy front axle. Is it an overhead valve engine or a flathead? The model V's looked very much like the VA's and they also made the industrial version and had 24" rear rubber on the standard wide front models. The V series used the flathead Continental engine.

G,
They were made throughout production. about 300 in 42 and just 5 or 6 in 56. A VAI was the last of the VA series made. there biggest production year I think was 48. There was just over 15,000 made.
