My series 430/model 440 is stuck in first gear. I have remover the hydrolic line above shifter cover and tried to remove it but with no luck. It seems to be caught on something, I can lift it above 1/2 inch up. It seems to be stuck on something and I dont know how to get it out of first gear.
Thanks,
Dave B

Dave, You'll have to have the shift lever in neutral in order to get the trans. cover off. The shift rail will protrude past the lip of the trans. housing when it's not in neutral. You might try jacking one wheel off the ground to relieve the tension on the gears. If it still sticks maybe you can get a thin flat bar in between the cover and the trans housing and drive the shift fork back into the neutral position.
