Hi all,
I have been looking for tractors for a little while and thought that i had decided on what i was looking for when i came across a case 1030 for sale. I was wondering what people's experience has been with them and if this would be too much tractor for me. I want to do some brush hogging, plowing and discing of a few acres of land. I was looking for a ford 800 series but someone who was selling one is also selling a 1030 and was telling me that for almost the same price i would be getting a lot more tractor bla bla... I am just a little worried that its too big. Im sure that it will become apparent when i go to look at it. Any thoughts?
thanks matt

Matt,
The 1030 has 101 horsepower and the Ford 800 has 42. If you want to get the job done quickly, the choice is obvious. Of my eight tractors, my 1030 is my favorite for general farm work.

The 1030 will give you 100+ horsepower. When we had ours, we pulled a 5 bottom plow. With that kind of power, you can use a 15 foot bush-hog. That's what I pull with my 1070. Is there a good market for case tractors where you live? You could always sell it if you find it's too big for your needs. It will be quite a bit bigger than that 800 ford. Hope this helps.
