After it sets several days you can losen the drain plug till it starts to seep, the antifreze and water will be under the oil. Do this once a year to the trans and rear boxes to let the condensation out.Dave

Drain the oil and leave the plug out while replacing the head gasket. Any moisture left will go to the bottom of the pan when you get it running again. Won't do any harm. It will come out at next drain interval.
