I'm looking for a 12 inch bucket for my Case 530 tractor backhoe. I can either modify my 24 inch bucket, or try and find and buy a 12 inch bucket. Any ideas where I might find one? Or any thoughts on modifying my 24 inch would be appreciated.

Howdy Greg,
I wasn't thinking about what I'd do if I actually found one. Hmm. Wonder how much shipping would be. A lot, I'm guessing. If I could get it for $400 including the shipping, I'd be inclined to do it. I'd have to double check on pin sizes, etc. I just got a bill from my electric company for doing some work, and it's at least double what I had expected. So I'm getting ready to do the trenching myself. Big job, for a little tractor. Shipping might not be too expensive, since it can be strapped to a pallet, I guess. Anyways, I sure don't want to cause you any extra work or trouble, but I could use the bucket.
Thanks very much

well, I aint gonna pay for your shipping :) I am not sure how much it would be but prob
quite a bit.

What job exactly do you have for the smaller bucket? Is it just cause your in the city or something? I always like the big bucket, its not like I am the one filling the hole back in :)

Yes, the shipping may be a lot. I honestly don't know. I'm about to do an underground service entrance conversion from overhead power poles. It's about 300 feet of trenching. The problem is, the power company has me by the balls. I spent $1200 just to have an estimate done, and figured it couldn't be much of a job, as I've done this before. WRONG! They want $8000! And that's with me digging the trench and installing the conduit. So I either lose my deposit, or go ahead and do the job. I can cut my 24 inch bucket down to 12 inches, with a lot of work. Or buy a bucket. Or use my 18 inch bucket. And the way money is going, I'll probably use the 18. Gosh, things sure are getting expensive these days. I saw an old man at a car show yesterday with a Ford Model A car. It was $650 new. Anyways, I'm very tired and should go take it easy for a while. I just transplanted twenty trees. Used the old Case. Best thing I own, is that tractor. Thanks for your replies. Means a lot. Gregg Kuljian
