Have old SC model. Been tearing down. Where new paint is still on parts is orange to me. Yet, I believe they call it Flambeau Red?? Zat what It is? Will Case/IH dealer's have this? TSC? I prefer to get in spray cans too if available. I like to do small parts with cans. If not, how about a common formula number to get mixed at auto store!

I have a 52 Case VA, does anyone know the proper paint code for it? Does anyone know where I can get the decals for the hood.

If you just want rattle can paint for small parts and touch-up try Chev orange-red DE1607 or Chev orange DE1620. To my eye the former is an exact match. Don't try to go by cap color, buy a can of each @ Wally world or any auto parts store. Paint a piece of flat metal and let dry well before comparing it to your tractor paint.

I use VanSickle paint a NAPHA thinner and Hardner. For my painting skills, auto paint is too pricey. I also use CaseIH paint. For the SC you want the Flambeau Red not Power Red. If you use CaseIH paint, I would suggest using the CaseIH thinner. When I used NAPHA with CaseIH, it didn't seem to mix well. The next batch I used CaseIH thinner and it seemed to work better.
Everyone probably has their own basic mix. Mine is 1-2-3. 1qt paint, 3oz thinner and 2oz hardner.

It is always best to buy paint and reducer from the same source. Find you a paint store and ask. I got mine from NAPA and they were very helpful. I also found flambeau red NAPA sray cans NAPA part number 7826 But someone said they may be discontinued now. They will be glad to help. Mixture ratios should be controlled tightly to get the best results. I ran a test on the TSR paint and found it very disappointing in color and durability. It faded within days. I am afraid in the paint business you get what you pay for. On my SC I spent about $250 on paint and reducers ratio per spec 8-4-1. Using a HVLP I covered the tractor with 3 quarts but it was close. A regular spray gun would use a gallon I would guess. Remember follow good safety practices.
Hope this helps.
PS I did use chevy engine orange spray cans on parts that I knew would be tough to spray and see after assembly if you can't find NAPA 7826 spray cans.

I agree, why do they call it red when it's more orange than a pumpkin?

I have tried to explain this most incredible color on the link below. Modern paints that change color at a $1000 per gallon have very little over the changing color of Flambeau red. It is probably the most difficult color to photograph and get the color correct.

I painted my '56 411 in Jan.got the paint from case-IH they had to order it from case, they had Power Red but it is not the same. TSC had the paint in guarts and gallons as well as spray cans used a quart of theirs as well as some of the spray can. The spray cans are a little liter but will work. Dale in Tx.

Flambeau Red kinda looks more orange than red. But it's definitely more red than the Persian Orange of Allis Chalmers.
Can't he'p you on your other questions but somebody will I'm sure.
